The History of Cinchy
After
years of using bungees, snubbers and other types of stretch cord tie downs,
cinchy was born. Like most inventions frustrations and necessity were the
driving factors. We wanted a stretch cord tie down that was always the right
length and tension every time. Not just once in a while! A tie down that's
user friendly and of excellent quality., so in 1988 we went to work and came up
with what we believed was the ideal solution, which was marketed under several
names. After years of thinking it couldn't be better we improved it by adding a
patented back lock which we refer to as a posilock to our basic design,
eliminating accidental cord release and greatly reducing the amount of effort
necessary to lock hook onto cord. No more struggling to pull the cord
completely into the v slot to lock on hook. Instead merely tucking tail of
cord into posilock ready's it for work, automatically locking itself. In time
this feature will be added to our other compatible components.
After the honeymoon was
over with our basic model and components we discovered the need for a
continuous tie down, a long stretch cord that hooks could be added to or removed
from any location without having to slide, or thread them on like our
previous designs. A hook with an open back was the answer. Both a
lightweight and a heavy duty model were born. Our mid rig and big rig completing
